I’ve had the good fortune to gain experience in a broad church of disciplines in the creative industries, and coupled this with a keenness to practise and fuse them together in content production. In a direct sense, this acquisition and combination of skills is the natural progression for a multimedia professional, as the production of sophisticated digital content requires a toolbox approach, yet does not always factor the traditional dynamics of teams. Working up from freelance finished artist, photographer and desktop publishing graphic designer to creative director, executive producer and project director, I’ve consistently accrued and honed a set of visual and editorial skills and experience which allow me to work at a directorial and expert level, both in teams or independently.

CREATIVE & PROJECT dIRECTION

I’ve worked as a creative director and executive producer for organisations, including the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and use the term to describe a spectrum of skills and experience from hands-on through to executive-level creative control of projects. Some examples of this:

DESIGN, EDITING & Compositing

I use a suite of software and post-processing techniques, including Adobe Creative Cloud apps, and I run a system to cater for 4K and 360 video workflows, print graphic design and digital photography.

wRITING

I’ve been awarded by Australian Writer’s Guild and Webbys for both script and long form writings, that have been broadcast and published by ABC, Sydney Opera House and Google Arts & Culture platforms. Examples:

INTERACTIVE CONTENT EXPERTISE

I have a range of experience in content production from building business cases and managing budgets, to wireframing, UX, accessibility and interface design across web and app environments.

dIRECTING

I have directed online drama, documentary, and I work regularly with actors. For example on audio components of multimedia projects, recently directing Lucy Bell, Richard Roxburgh, and Hugo Weaving. Examples:

CONSULTANCY & Curation

I provide consultation services to organisations, such as Sydney Opera House, on a range of projects.
I also curate physical and virtual exhibitions, most recently John Coburn and Google Arts and Culture.
